Proposed Move

edit

I propose that this page be moved to Vanderbilt University Medical Center (Nashville, Tennessee) to meet the standards set by WP:NC. This move is also proposed so as to follow future format for all hospital articles in List of hospitals in Tennessee. -- Dan9186(TEC) December 13, 2007 23:44 (UTC)

I'd say that's unnecessary. There's nothing in WP:NC that suggests that there's a need to include the city and state name here. From the naming conventions:
Generally, article naming should prefer what the greatest number of English speakers would most easily recognize, with a reasonable minimum of ambiguity, while at the same time making linking to those articles easy and second nature. (Emphasis added.)
I think this already has a minimum of ambiguity because there are no other Vanderbilt University Medical Centers. There aren't any in Memphis, Tennessee, for example, or in Atlanta, Georgia, so there's no need to indicate that this one happens to be in Nashville. Furthermore, most of the articles on hospitals in that list don't exist yet, so they don't provide a particularly reasonable standard for conformity. And most of those articles, once created, wouldn't need the geographic disambiguation anyway; why call it "Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center (Bristol, Tennessee)" when "Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center" solves the problem just as well? Good point, thanks for the prompt response. Also thanks for finding another item on the list that needed to be corrected. I've caught myself removing everyone I find. Thanks. -- Dan9186(TEC) December 14, 2007 19:08 (UTC)

Dolly Parton & Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine. Comment

edit

Dolly Parton donated $1,000,000 to this university to aid in the development of a COVID-19 vaccine per her WP page. It seems to have been the Moderna vaccine that this research helped produce, per Parton's footnotes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolly_Parton#Vaccination Thank you for your time, Wordreader (talk) 04:36, 10 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

RaDonda Vaught homicide case

edit

Support split - I support splitting part of this page to a new article entitle RaDonda Vaught homicide case. Thoughts? --Jax 0677 (talk) 20:29, 9 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Support; I would guess that there is plenty of coverage in RS of this event; I've seen quite a bit of coverage.---Avatar317(talk) 04:00, 11 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Strong support, this case has plenty of coverage and becomes a subject of its own. --Deansfa (talk) 18:27, 16 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Right-wing campaign

edit

why is it called that? the videos that were shown are directly from the medical center. i think it should be changed to mutilation for profit because that is what the doctor said. 2603:8000:5000:E9D2:4D9D:5304:AA56:1D1A (talk) 00:56, 29 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
