Plea to keep page

Firstly, I would like to claim that the existence of Vangteh even in this present time. Please, refer to following links [1], [2], and [3]. Even though Vangteh is degraded down as a village level according to present political administrative system of the government, to which Vangteh is currently belonged, it was known as 'khua-pi" in the native language. "Khua" means "human abode, inhabitance" or even "city, town, village" in modern sense, and "pi" means "great or big". Please, notice that "khua" does not specify city or town or villege in native language. In this sense, Vangteh can be city or town or villege. However, as "pi" signifies her greatness, we can say that Vangteh is a great/big place or City in modern sense.

Secondly, concerning lack of printed sources in relation to her past, we should blame the past itself that no written system except oral traditions (sacred incantation, nursery poem, war song, etc.) was existed in the region (presently known as Chin state of Myanmar-Burma) till western missionaries introduced Roman script in early twenty century. However, her recent past is not too far to trace as such oral traditions could still be recited by many and also as some of present generation still retain their tribal religion until this present time in faithful commitment to their ancestors. In fact, within Vangteh herself, we can see at least one hundred households still preserve their ancestral religion, in which they practice annually reciting of all those oral traditions, in spite of the over-flooding of Christianity in the land.

Therefore, we cannot neglect the history of Vangteh just by blaming lack of printed reference according to the standard of modern society. As historians, we should also need to listen to those oral traditions of the natives to good enough extent when any printed materials are lack.
