I am pretty much sure that the surname originated as a Polish nickname derived from the expression "niebędzie" (archaic one-word spelling of "nie będzie", "will not be (doing something)". There are quite a few Polish surnames of this unusual derivations from verbs, see Polish name#Other, but this one is quite unusual even in this category. I failed to find any references so far. I removed a paragraph about his coffee desires in a section titled life and career. Some bot automatically reverted the change. There seems to be some dispute about this section, so I'm restoring it. There was no bot involved, it's a content dispute with KNHaw. I tried to look up the WSJ article being referenced but could not find the exact same item; a similar item (similar headline, next day, some of the same reporters on the byline - "The Ukraine Crisis: U.S. Plans to Admit 100,000 Refugees --- Biden administration officials say they are looking at a range of legal paths to entry". Wall Street Journal, Eastern edition; New York, N.Y. Mar 25, 2022. p.
