  • "...between Pimlico to the north and Stockwell to the south." sounds weird
In what way is it? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:22, 2 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
between and to the north and south sounds weird to me. But if it’s grammatically correct it should be fine. VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 01:25, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • "The station sits just to the east of Vauxhall Bridge,..." not cited, how abt google maps?
  • "The station is on the boundary of zones 1 and 2 of the London Travelcard area and, although a through station, it is classed as a central London terminus for ticketing purposes." deadlink
I've dropped in some TfL sources to fix these two Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:22, 2 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
The tube map ref I changed to the template for easier reference hehe fyi. VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 12:13, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • "There is a bus station located north next to the station..." typo?
Copyedited Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:22, 2 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

History

edit
  • feel like this section could be expanded
I've dropped a sentence in about redevelopment; I'll have a look to see what else there is. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 17:03, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
A suggestion would be to describe more in detail about the architecture, and how threatening it is for it to be demolished (like how the public responds) and how the Lambeth council persists to demolish it etc. VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 17:54, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
There you go. I've dropped in a note about local MP (and UKIP politician in disguise) Kate Hoey's objection to the scheme. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:39, 8 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
👍 Like Great job! Off to the other sections =D VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 15:07, 8 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Services

edit

National rail

edit
  • unreferenced
Sort of done, by citing the train frequency and the timetables, although I've put a general "look at the specific timetable to verify this" note. For example, by pulling up the relevant timetable, I can easily see that services from Waterloo to Chessington South depart at 17 and 47 minutes past the hour, verifying the 2 trains / hour claim. To be honest, what usually happens over time is random IPs change this, probably because they're locals who use the service day in day out and know exactly when a train's supposed to depart - I don't consider any of that "material challenged or likely to be challenged", since it can always be verified by going to the station and having a look! Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 17:34, 8 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yea it’s fine. In fact, I got into a dispute on Barkingside station article before too which is kind of embarrassing xD. The locals definitely know better but they didn’t realise Wikipedia isn’t a reliable source itself. VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 01:29, 9 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Underground

edit
  • London Underground would be a better title
Looking at similar articles, London Victoria station says "London Underground" as does Finsbury Park station, so we'll go with that. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:28, 2 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • underground word is redundant here
Sorry, where exactly? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:28, 2 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Oh the one in the prose xD VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 01:26, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Also, ‘‘on the Victoria line’’ is missing here. VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 01:45, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
I think this is done. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:58, 8 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

river

edit
  • connections is a better title
Changed to "London River Services" Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:58, 8 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • perhaps mention bus services from here in another paragraph
Which bus services are those? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:58, 8 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Vauxhall bus station VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 01:30, 9 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • expand river services
I've expanded this a bit more. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:58, 8 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Incidents

edit
  • I'm undecided whether to leave this in list form or prose
I'm ambivalent. It depends on how much detail you can give to each one. King's Cross St Pancras tube station uses prose. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 21:31, 1 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Since there are like five incidents, I think list is fine now. Unless if u can expand it then a good-looking prose would fit. VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 01:47, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Conclusion

edit

Meanwhile I'm not sure if I should get a second opinion for this since I can't check the majority of the sources. Ritchie333 what do u think? VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 13:06, 1 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately the best sources for train / underground articles are still offline. Iridescent and Redrose64 probably have copies of all or most things cited here. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 21:31, 1 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
I can go through it if you want, but be careful what you wish for. On a very quick skim, "It is the second-busiest London bus station" sounds like total bullshit to me; even if you discount Victoria Coach Station on the ground that unless it's red it's not a real bus, what about Hammersmith? Heathrow Central? Stratford? Croydon? ‑ Iridescent 21:43, 1 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
I'm not much of a bus man, so I can only go with what's in the source, which says verbatim "Vauxhall is London's second busiest bus station; the first is Victoria.", although that was April 2005. Have any of the other bus stations expanded since? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 21:59, 1 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hammersmith opened in its current form in 2008; Heathrow is and always has been huge (I suspect they've not been counting non TfL buses if they've excluded it); Stratford as you may be aware underwent certain changes in 2012; Croydon has been there in its present form at least since Tramlink opened, but might not officially count as some of the stops are outside the structure; Victoria Coach Station gets us into a complicated discussion over whether coaches count as buses. 2005 was the height of Ken Livingstone's spending spree, pre-Olympics, and the bendy buses were still in use, and consequently when it comes to London infrastructure, sources from that period may as well be from horse-and-cart days. ‑ Iridescent 22:15, 1 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hmm I guess it’s fine to leave it then. Since I dunno what’s behind the sleeves. VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 01:29, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

I hope to get seriously cracking on this review later today, so far I've just attended to bits and bobs. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:01, 3 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Right, I think I've addressed everything now. Sorry about the wait. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 20:57, 8 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
No worries. In fact, I hope I didn't seem pushy =D Happy to pass this! Great Job! more to come. VKZYLUFan (talk) (Mind the Gap!) 02:01, 9 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
