Vepsia?
editCan anyone tell me what "Vepsia" is?--Shakura 14:15, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- Probably just the region where the Vepses live or traditionally inhabit. According to FOTW, they live "in the area south of Karelia, between the lakes Ladoga and Onega [in Leningrad Region]". Also see this. —Khoikhoi 18:55, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Vepses not in use in English
edithttp://www.veps.org/About/index.htm shows that Vepsians use "Vepsian" themselves and Google of US university sites shows that Vepses is not in use in English:
site:edu vepses veps
site:edu vepsians veps
http://www.eki.ee/books/redbook/veps.shtml and https://drum.umd.edu/dspace/bitstream/1903/3395/1/umi-umd-3207.pdf and http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/ru-veps.html are reliable sites, and Vepses is not in use in English. Move blocked by redirect page.

Flag
editAccording to this source, the Vepsian flag "was “adopted” in June 1992 at the Vepsian Summer Festival". Until we know more about the status of this festival, and the current status of the flag, I suggest that the flag should be removed from the article. There seem to be more than enough distribution of unofficial flags at wp. Bw --Orland (talk) 05:29, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
PUTIN
editA popular new theory is that Putin is a Veps, which he does look very Russian/mongoloid. Not as pronounced mongoloid as, say, Lenin or Brezhnev or Pelevin, but just perfect for a Saami or a Veps. --184.161.144.204 (talk) 21:12, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
