Yes, there were two major fires in Veregin however, the way that it is worded in the artical, it makes it sound like the village was just about destroyed. The local hotel and post office were the two major fires, but in no way did the fires physicaly threaten the actual village. A much better wording for the artical would be along the lines of:

Two major fires in the comunity on January 22 and 29, 2004 has threatened the viability of the village. The future of the village currently remains in question. Villagers will get together to hold a vote to decide it future. [1]

I have been to Veregin many times (my wife is from there) and I have never seen a mountain in the back ground yet. I am pretty sure that the picture titled "Veregin in 1907" is from BC and not Saskatchewan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.164.177.3 (talk) 20:48, 15 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
