SI vs. Binary prefixes in file system sizes

Claims on the first journaling filesystem

The article states that it's the first commercial journal filesystem. I don't see the link (and unsurprisingly, much of the comparison page simply goes to unsourced notes). I looked for comparisons of initial release dates online, but was unable to find a reliable source for dates earlier than in this article. If you have a reliable cite, you should add it Tedickey (talk) 21:34, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I don't have a cite, but we had JFS in the lab 1987 or 1988, and it shipped in 1990 as part of AIXv3 I do remember the guys talking nervously about Veritas, they seemed not to like something. linas (talk) 20:49, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

AIX - http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg246619.html - VERITAS Software products, such as VERITAS Volume Manager (VxVM) and VERITAS File System (VxFS), are popular on other UNIX platforms, and VERITAS announced these products for AIX in the early of May 2002.

Linux and Solaris - http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/08/02/veritas_lw_releases/ - Most notably, Veritas has now brought its Storage Foundation 4.0 product to Red Hat Linux. This software, released on Solaris way back in February, combines the Veritas File System and Volume Manager into a single product.
