edit

Nick GAS is still airing on DISH but not been replaced yet while Noggin & The N still sharing the same channel space because the 2 channels (Noggn & the n) does'nt split. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.237.220.220 (talk) 21:54, 9 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Viacom Satellite Broadcasting

edit

Is there any evidence of this name being used? All official Viacom sources still use the "MTV Networks" name, with no reference to VSB. -- azumanga (talk) 23:31, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

MTV Networks (MTVN), uses the Registered Trademark logo "MTV". To the best of my knowledge and research, there is not a separate logo for "MTV Networks". Dogtownclown (talk) 19:25, 5 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

The previous logo "MTV Networks" that was previously attached to this article appears to be a graphic made for the web and does not appear to be an official logo and/or Trademark. There is no indication of Trademark on this prior graphic aside from the one that is directly applied to the "MTV" mark. Dogtownclown (talk) 19:33, 5 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Someone linked to this http://www.viacom.com/ourbrands/medianetworks/mtvnetworks/Pages/default.aspx to back up the assertion that the image "MTV Networks" is the logo for MTV Networks. The image doesn't even appear on the page. Dogtownclown (talk) 19:28, 7 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

There has been absolutely no support offered to show that the graphic image "MTV Networks" is actually a trademark logo. Dogtownclown (talk) 18:06, 1 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

MTV Logo in Question?

edit

If you want to remove the logo for Mtv, please give a valid reason here. 166.77.103.133 (talk) 19:09, 31 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • Removed again. Please see WP:NFCC #10c, as explained in the prior edit summary you reverted. --Hammersoft (talk) 20:33, 1 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • Got it... "The name of each article (a link to each article is also recommended) in which fair use is claimed for the item, and a separate, specific non-free use rationale for each use of the item, as explained at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline. The rationale is presented in clear, plain language and is relevant to each use."

I will try to figure out how to make it compliant, haven't worked too much with images and logos. Dogtownclown (talk) 22:48, 1 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

The MTV Networks logo is on Wiki Commons http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:MTV.png - am I able to use this? Dogtownclown (talk) 20:28, 2 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • I added the MTV logo from Wikimedia Commons. Hoping I get it right this time. The image is free content as opposed to the non-free content which was previously posted. Pretty sure there is no rationale required to post. Dogtownclown (talk) 00:36, 3 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Merge Atom.com and Viacom Media Networks

User:Light2021 added a merge template to these articles last year. Is there any good reason to merge these two articles? Jarble (talk) 21:55, 24 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

None at all. They aren't the same entity; if anything, the Atom.com content could be merged into Comedy Central, but not merged into Viacom Media Networks. 65.129.206.7 (talk) 22:08, 19 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

ViacomCBS Media Networks?

edit

There isn't a source that states that this is the new name. Any mention of ViacomCBS being in the name should be reverted until an source appears that can verify or deny this. HurricaneGeek2002 talk 20:59, 6 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Here is evidence from a press release by Viacom and CBS before the merger closed about their new team management for the ViacomCBS company. If you read through the corporate leaders, the new unit company name for Viacom Media Networks is now ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks or "ViacomCBS Media Networks". BKonadu67 — Preceding unsigned comment added by BKonadu67 (talkcontribs) 18:53, 11 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

They never directly said it was the new name for the company. It could possibly be a entirely new company. There needs to be a discussion here before action gets taken or not. There is no deadline for this. HurricaneGeek2002 talk 19:33, 11 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
Also, where is the press release? You never linked to it. HurricaneGeek2002 talk 19:36, 11 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Here it is, forgot about that. https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20191118005608/en/Viacom-CBS-Announce-ViacomCBS-Corporate-Leadership BKonadu67 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:240:D700:1790:A464:15EA:83DB:2A76 (talk) 03:49, 12 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

They never directly state that it’s the new name as in "Viacom Media Networks is now ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks". We still don’t know whether it’s a new name or a new company. We need to wait until this is said in the clear. HurricaneGeek2002 talk 14:50, 12 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
@HurricaneGeek2002: Am I wrong to think the the new logo makes it clear enough that the name has changed? SportsFan007 (talk) 05:37, 19 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
The new logo that has been added here might be unofficial, as it was ripped from Wikia project Logopedia, where file description states "partially built from the ground up". Not taking any chances with said logo, and I've removed it from the article since it's on the clock to be deleted next week, unless somebody source information to it. So, no the "new logo" doesn't proof anything sadly. HurricaneGeek2002 talk 02:18, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Logopedia has the offical logo. Here: https://logos.fandom.com/wiki/File:ViacomCBS_Domestic_Media_Networks.svg XSMan2016 (talk) 02:48, 30 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
