Need help finding additional information

edit

I was trying to add verifiable information to this article but had a hard time finding any information. If any other editors know a good place to find information on baseball umpires, please let me know. Thanks--BuzyBody (talk) 00:55, 5 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Well, I'm afraid that sometimes there isn't a whole lot to say on some of these pages. Umpires don't always get a lot of coverage. AutomaticStrikeout 01:22, 5 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Notes on things to add by someone with appropriate persmissions

edit

Vic Carapazza came to my attention on July 11, 2015 after a controversial call (called foul tip, should have been strike three) which led to a highly criticized ejection of Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Francisco Cerevelli in the second inning. Carapazza is no stranger to controversy having thrown out several players on the Texas Rangers team in 2014. Rangers' manager Ron Washington had the following to say in regards to Carapazza's professioalism: "'He’s got a quick trigger finger,' manager Ron Washington said. 'He needs to settle down and show a little patience. This is the major leagues. He seems to think you can’t say anything at all about the strike zone. I think he’s got to control himself better.'” (source http://rangersblog.dallasnews.com/2014/07/texas-rangers-vic-carapazza-meet-again.html/ ) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.131.93.220 (talk) 20:03, 12 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Those kind of foul tip calls are more common than you would think. I've seen Chris Segal make the same sort of call in Kansas City, and he ejected Ned Yost for getting in his face about it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.78.132.187 (talk) 22:26, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Blindness

edit

Rumour has it that this guy is legally blind. Any truth to that? It would explain a lot... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.55.35.25 (talk) 16:55, 10 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

No. There's no actual evidence that Carapazza is blind. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.78.132.187 (talk) 22:24, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
