As early as 1877, a part of the railroad from Shreveport to the Louisiana/Texas line, was leased to Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railway. A map of the MK&T shows the extension into Louisiana. I found a link to this information but forgot where. I am attempting to tie this information together because all the acquisitions through leases, merges (minor and major), leases through wholly or partially owned subsidiaries, as well as court decisions, make a tough time for any chronology.
