Important items to add
editVictor Papanek has served as head of the Department of Product Design at North Carolina State College's School of Design (http://d.lib.ncsu.edu/collections/catalog/0003526). What is Papanek's middle name? I have not found it in the "Victor J. Papanek Foundation" website or other places. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prof.Doc.Pro.Do.CE.of.J (talk • contribs) 02:21, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
Lead obsessed with iconoclastism
editThe lead is so preoccupied with framing Victor as an iconoclast, it barely notes his accomplishments. — MaxEnt 20:06, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
Discrepancies
editI have noticed there is a lot of published discrepancies about Victor Papanek - including his year of birth (1923 vs 1927), his date of immigration into the United States (1932 vs 1939), and dates for his education and degrees. I am adding a note here so that we can hopefully document the process of deciding these details and any related citations. Jooojay (talk) 03:20, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- Birth 1927: [1][2]
- Birth 1923: [3][4][5][6]

- Additional discrepancies include the day of birth - today it was changed to the 22nd, based on wikidata and a citation.[12] Please use this space to discuss further. Jooojay (talk) 02:54, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

Important work
editThe lengthy "Important work" section is poorly written and is the writer's view of Papanek's views - all without any substantiation or citation. It adds nothing to the factual record, and nothing of value to the Wikipedia article. I suggest that it be deleted. Designergene (talk) 17:28, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- I agree, it has been tagged since August 2020 for clean up - it was removed today. Jooojay (talk) 13:58, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- Wow! Many thanks for all the great new work editing this article. Improved so much. My only quibble - whether the 'Personal life' section is really of any relevance. Designergene (talk) 17:24, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Designergene:, Hello! Thank you for your positive words. Yes, it's pretty standard to have a "personal life section" in Wikipedia bio articles. Most notable people are shaped by their families in some way, and it has been published in many books about Papanek - everything here falls within WP:RS. Jooojay (talk) 18:00, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
