The examples of Pyrrhic victory that Projectyugo(Talk) has attempted to place on this page would be better placed on the Pyrric victory page.WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:59, 16 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

The point of a "See also" section is to direct the reader to the related article. It is NOT to define related terms within the body of the article itself!WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:06, 16 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Professional Wrestler?

edit

Does anyone else have a problem with a photograph of a professional wrestler on the victory page? Do we all understand that these men are victorious only insofar as they receive a check? Victory means fighting for something, overcoming something, to reach a success. It does not mean depicting success. Other than an actual photograph of some sort of failure, I can think of absolutely no worse photograph for depicting "victory." Anything, people, come on! This man did not win a match, he acted out a pre-determined result, he was an actor. Michael Phelps celebrating a victory? A presidential candidate celebrating his win? These are just a few examples of what we call "victory." Chicopac (talk) 06:33, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Paulo Coelho

edit

I'm not sure I understand the relevance of an entire section dedicated to a quote from a Paulo Coelho novel? I absolutely agree that a section on the philosophy of victory might be pertinent but it feels like it needs a lot more content and citations to deliver on this – as things stand, it merely offers undue prominence to a single voice that isn't even an expert on the subject. For the sake of WP:BOLD, I'm going to remove for now but happy for this to be reverted if someone can improve the quality of this section. 185.113.24.24 (talk) 10:38, 21 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
