Video Magazine Online Archive

Is anyone aware of an online archive of Video Magazine as it existed in the late 1970s through 1999? I discovered Video in December 1980 and collected many issues that I had through many years until this decade when I moved several times. If so, could you please post a message here and on my Talk page. I'd love to expand this article some more. It was a great magazine in its day and surely covered more than videogames. They reviewed new cable networks like MTV, Nickelodeon, others. In the March 1981 issue they reviewed the RCA SelectaVision VideoDisc format. They had a letters column. They had a competitor magazine Video Review. Both of them covered the early problems with the LaserVision/Laserdisc format. They covered Betamax, Beta HiFi, VHS, VHS HiFi. Reviewed small portable televisions like the SONY Walkman Tv. They had great columnists. I may still have some copies in my packing boxes, but I fear I lost most of them as my apartment landlord and my parents would complain about my collection, saying it was "clutter". I have seen more than one collection of scans of Video online, however they are always focused on the "Arcade Alley" column. I assume the reason is because retro video game fanciers are simply more common online than the Laserdisc or Betamax fanciers. If you wanted to locate full scans of the magazine you would probably have to commit to a good bit of microfiche scanning which would involve the university library (if you are currently a student or staff) or physical travel if you are a not currently actively associated with a university. Full versions of these sources can be located here.
Incidentally, if you're interested in working on related topics and if sufficient sources could be located online to write a new article on Video Review, that would be great! I haven't yet looked into how feasible that would be, but it would be very interesting from a historical perspective and to help place the "Video (magazine)" article in context. -Thibbs (talk) 15:47, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

Well, I 'can't' view old copies of BYTE, Computerworld, Infoworld, Network World, via Google Books. Video wasn't exactly so niche that the company couldn't digitize it and put it up there. For example, BYTE is freely available on Archive.org. Jimj wpg (talk) 16:34, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

I'm afraid I don't fully understand your last comment, but if The Internet Archive is where you want to find scans of Video then you're basically out of luck. The only copy I could readily discover at Archive.org is this one (and it's entirely based on Arcade Alley)... I don't think there are any online archives of Video Magazine as it existed in the late 1970s through 1999. -Thibbs (talk) 16:41, 8 September 2019 (UTC)
