Fair use rationale for Image:Finalfantasyvlogocropped.jpg

edit

Image:Finalfantasyvlogocropped.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Video gaming in China. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Removed "Undue Weight"

edit

diff This tag {{Undue|date=November 2015}} give no explanation or why there is undue weight, neither on the page nor on the talk page, which is required.

If found no excessive weight in the article. Without further clarification there is no reason for this tag to be on the article.5.198.10.236 (talk)

Merger proposal

edit

I propose to merge Online gaming in China into this article Video gaming in China. Topics share a lot of details and so there doesn't seem to be any reason to have separate articles. I would definitely have a separate top-level section related to online gaming to capture things from that article not already in this one, since the MMO approach was highly popularized in China. Mention that minors can only play 3 hours of video games a week in lead?

edit

I think this is WP:DUE, but got reverted. Hundreds of millions of people living under an unusual and very restrictive law relating to video games[1] certainly seems lead-worthy to me. In fact this may be the single most important thing about video games in China. Thoughts? –Novem Linguae (talk) 08:18, 19 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

There's lot of other restrictions on minors related to games, and given this is about the video game industry in China, the specifics of that restriction aren't so much important as that such restrictions simply exist. --Masem (t) 13:09, 19 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
That said, a small modification of the current last sentence of the lede can be easily made without putting too much excessive weight on this factor, which I've done. (It is discussed in depth in the body obviously). --Masem (t) 13:25, 19 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
