Fair use rationale for Image:Vilmabanky.jpg

edit

Image:Vilmabanky.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I don't actually think this is a very good picture of her. She was absolutely beautiful, surely there must be one that shows that?81.171.233.73 (talk) 21:15, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Confusing statement

'It is said that Valentino was fascinated by Vilma, and it was he who chose her as the first lady in the films and Ronald Colman in a series of love stories...'

Not clear. Did Valentino suggest that she play opposite Colman? Valetude (talk) 01:44, 9 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Birth name

edit

I have added the consensus of secondary sources (Lonchit). The primary sources cited have no means of clearly linking with Vilma Bánky, and perhaps should be removed as WP:Original research. The only books I could find using the alternative surname were published 2010 and 2013 and my be based on this article. All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 22:42, 29 July 2015 (UTC).Reply

We do have "Vilma Banky Konsics" 2007 (Encyclopaedia Hungarica), and "Konsics Vilma" 1978 (Films in Review - Volume 29 - Page 127). All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 22:45, 29 July 2015 (UTC).Reply
How could she be born with the surname Lonchit if her parents were János (later John; 1875-1948) and Katalin (née Ulbert) Koncsics (1880-1947)?? Quis separabit? 22:06, 20 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Accent

edit

Why would there be an accent on her name when it was never used in WP:Reliable sources in English? BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 00:50, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
