Merge into article on playwright
editThis minor play got a couple of productions back in the day, but neither this woefully inferior article nor the play itself has attracted any significant attention in many years; it should probably be merged into a line or two on playwright's page.E.M.Gregory (talk) 16:26, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
- Absolutely not. It's a crystal-clear pass of at least 3 of 5 criteria of WP:NBOOK, which you would know if you had looked for sources. Notability tags are not the right ones. Oh, and as for recent productions, July 2015 isn't recent enough for you? I strongly suggest you revert your own edit; you have no idea what you're talking about, you're editing in a way that's painfully obviously retaliatory, and you're just digging yourself deeper. –Roscelese (talk ⋅ contribs) 17:11, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
- Obviously notable, and a separate page is certainly warranted. Extensively covered play by an important playright. A minute's search shows this is substantively discussed in multiple books—for example, [1][2][3][4]—and here is a July 17, 2015 review by Ben Brantley in The New York Times of a recent Atlantic Theater Company production [5]. More big-city productions with reviews, from the first 2 pages of a Google search: Boston Globe (2013) [6]; Chicago Reader (1993) [7]; Los Angeles Times (1987) [8]. --Arxiloxos (talk) 17:12, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
- I continue to think that that this minor play by a minor playwright would be best served with a small section on Churchill's page, as witnessed by the fact that this page has languished for 5 years sources until I stumbled on it, tagged it and sources were produced.E.M.Gregory (talk) 18:38, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
- Feel free to use your own judgment about notability tag. I'm leaving it in place for now, due to lack of time. I may come back and look more closely at sourcing, possibly propose merging. Truly, minor works like this are ill-served by pages no one bothers to update. Whereas as a paragraph on the author's page, they are more likely to be kept up to date and improved. Chruchill is clearly not a writer whose fans care enough to work very hard on Wikipedia pages for her minor works.E.M.Gregory (talk) 18:43, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
