Doubtful popularity outside Spain

edit

The article read "Currently they enjoy considerable popularity with a huge base of fans throughout the Spanish-speaking world". before I deleted the sentence. This was a major, biased overstatement. In fact, almost nobody has even heard about them outside the Spanish borders. Whoever wrote it was talking about 400 million people. It only a fraction of the above phrase were true, their album sales would have toppled the European charts, and they would be wealthy beyond imagination; but that has not happened, so it is far from the truth. Why, even the (unsourced) claim to their popularity within Spain is doubtful, too! --AVM (talk) 04:08, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Quite some time later it is easier to find mentions of them as important to the development of hip hop in Spain and to have enjoyed some domestic success, albeit with sales figures that are modest on some scales. Appearances on national TV and an MTV award did happen. The waters are a muddied by the members choosing to work on many other projects over the past decade, but googling their names yields a not trivial number of web articles from Spain and Latin America. Not superstars but IMHO significant enough for a WP article. Regards Guffydrawers (talk) 16:23, 24 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

edit

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 00:03, 22 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
