I've replaced the external link to the PDF file of the game (1.1 MB) with an external link to the blog article which originally provided the link to the file. I like the idea of providing the file (especially as it's under Creative Commons); now, readers can choose whether to download it or not from the link in the blog. Also, I've changed the "External Links" heading to "References", because the same blog article is the primary source for the fact that Costikyan released Violence under Creative Commons. - Salvor Hardin 11:43, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
I intend to replace the Hogshead Publishing link once I've written an article about it. (The existing link was to an article about different senses of the word hogshead, not to an article about Hogshead Publishing Pty Ltd.) I'm working on an article about another of the New Style games, De Profundis, and intend to add articles about New Style, Hogshead, and as many of the other New Style games as I can. I'll add the links after I've written the articles. If I decide it's not worth writing an article about Hogshead, I'll make an external link to the company's website instead.- Salvor Hardin 11:58, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
Unplayable Reference?
editThat the game is in practice unplayable needs a reference to evidence of unplayability, or at least needs to be changed to *intended to be unplayable*. The mechanic is odd but not especially unplayable, although the scenarios require a strong stomach and a deeply twisted sense of humour. (Source: experience! Why do you think I am anonymous?)
Fair use rationale for Image:Violence rpg.jpg
editImage:Violence rpg.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
