Fair use rationale for Image:LarryBond Vortex.jpg
editImage:LarryBond Vortex.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:57, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Accuracy of plot summary
editIt seems people here are insisting on their own versions of the book's plot which is apparently based on factual errors. Before you try reverting back to your error-filled edit, try discussing it here instead of using improper edit summaries. --Eaglestorm (talk) 03:57, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
- I'm hardly obligated to. Since you're the one revising an established synopsis, it is your responsibility to compile a list of said errors and explain your edits. Furthermore, I will not be held responsible for an edit war I did not initiate or further. Your failure to properly justify your action is why I keep reverting the edits, a fact I have made quite clear. I won't allow myself to be intimidated by such unacceptable behavior. -Katangais (talk) 04:14, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
Correct?
editI haven't read the book (I came here due to a referral from another Wikipedia page) but this caught my eye: "LTC Mike Carrerra – Commanding officer, Alpha Company, 1st Ranger Battalion." Is it right? In the US Army, captains command ranger companies, not LTCs, a rank more appropriate for commanding a battalion. Can someone familiar with the book check this out? Thanks. - It's clearly an error. The book states specifically that this character is commander of the 1st Ranger Battalion (Quote from the character appendix reads: "Lieutenant Colonel Mike Carrerra, U.S. Army - Commanding Officer of 1/75th Ranger Battalion"). --Katangais (talk) 20:28, 10 July 2017 (UTC)

Vortex (Bond and Larkin novel) → Vortex (novel) – No other novel by this name on Wikipedia therefore the author names are redundant. – Illegitimate Barrister (talk • contribs), 05:13, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose. The Vortex (disambiguation)#Fiction page lists three novels titled Vortex and one titled The Vortex. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 15:02, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
- Speedy close @Illegitimate Barrister: appears to have created the proposal in error. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:37, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
- In all fairness the dab page is an untidy mess so I can see how it could have happened. Cleaning up now. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:40, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah, I was mistaken as "Vortex (novel)" redirected here. Fixed now, please close this. – Illegitimate Barrister (talk • contribs),—Preceding undated comment added 05:47, 17 April 2019 (UTC)
