Cosmonaut Leonov violated procedure
edit“Later accounts report Cosmonaut Leonov violated procedure by entering the airlock head-first, then became stuck sideways when he turned to close the outer hatch, forcing him to flirt with decompression sickness”
There's a video of Leonov stating that the suit had ballooned outside, preventing him entering the airlock. Forcing him to partially deflate the suit and perform the reverse entry manoeuvre. As covered in the documentary "The Last Man on the Moon" and Leonov's autobiography, "Two Sides of the Moon: Our Story of the Cold War Space Race.

Fair use rationale for Image:Voskhod2.jpg
editImage:Voskhod2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
film of the EVA?
editThere are charges that some of the film released of the EVA was not authentic. The article talks about not getting photos and not recovering the camera. I don't know the details. Can this be added to the article? Bubba73 (if u cn rd ths u cn go to my talk page), 20:46, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
- I believe the main image used in this article is faked. The full clip shows the triple Sun reflection that Lloyd Mallan cited. Perhaps it should be re captioned appropriately?
suicide pill y/n
editThe article, and also the fancy NASA document cited in the article, says that Leonov had a suicide pill. this link: http://www.space.com/news/spacehistory/leonov_spacewalk_000318.html ...says he denied having a suicide pill. I can't find direct quotations for either. So...which is it? 75.76.186.125 (talk) 10:04, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
How would a suicide pill have been administered?
- It's very easy to kill yourself in space, just open a hatch. All of the stories regarding suicide pills being taken into space are most likely fairy tales that serve only to fire the public's imagination.--172.190.126.165 (talk) 22:41, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
Space walk
editThank you for telling us about Mr. Leonov. However, in the caption under the picture of Mr. Leonov, you refer to his spacewalk as being the "first manned spacewalk." How can a spacewalk NOT be manned? I think "first spacewalk" would be better.
2017 Russian Film in Popular Culture Section
editThe last two items make reference of the same film, The Age of Pioneers. The film is variously translated as The Age of Pioneers and Spacewalk. Suggest combining the two, possibly remarking on the two common titles.

Faked?
editCan we please take this faking section out, it is emberessing that this is on Wikipedia. Using one book and elevate the issue to a own section is poor work at best. I could not find any serious articles about this. I have tried to sideline it, since it seems that this is no real issue in the main body of literature particularly inside of Russia, but the last one is only a guess since there are no Russian sources who say this mentioned.
The claim about the fake is fake, lol. Nsae Comp (talk) 23:33, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
- It's pretty good as it is now, showing the controversy and the history. --Zac67 (talk) 05:32, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
- Have deleted this section as per WP:UNDUE a search shows no reliable sources mentioning this issue Ilenart626 (talk) 19:23, 12 April 2022 (UTC)
