Family section

edit

Removed following unsourced statement from "Family" section:

Alan has one son by the name of Joshua Royal a business owner in South Carolina.

If true, what is the relevance of Vyacheslav's half nephew to this article? Jagiellon (talk) 00:06, 7 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Date format

edit

I noticed that the format of dates is inconsistent on this page. Should they be edited to use the same format? Shouldn't they all use the day month year format standard in Russia, the country of the topic? Thanks.... Yeng-Wang-Yeh (talk) 19:41, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Inconsistent timeline?

edit

The following sentence fragment was recently inserted into the opening section:

"On June 8 1992, Ivankov was arrested in the United States by the FBI, convicted, and jailed. In 2005, was released from prison and extradited to Russia."

Besides the obvious grammatical issues, which are easily fixed, the dates in this sentence are inconsistent with the later exposition. For example, Ivankov was not arrested in 1992, the year of his arrival in the United States, but three years later, in 1995. Also, he was not released in 2005, but this past year, when he was deported back to Russia and then promptly killed. Should this sentence be fixed in place, or should it be removed as being redundant with the material that follows? Alternatively, is it the material that follows that needs to be corrected per the dates? Thanks.... Yeng-Wang-Yeh (talk) 19:47, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ivanokov was born in Georgia?

edit

Is there any sources that he was indeed born in Georgia? Jaqeli (talk) 13:38, 22 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

I clicked on the "Russian" in the left pane and there the place of birth is given as Moscow. I cannot read or speak Russian, but can recognise some words. One would assume that those who wrote the Russian language page would be correct. In 1940 when he was born it was the war and his father was likely to have been a soldier. Maybe he was stationed there after the war and Yaponchik grew up there in Georgia. Russia's rulers, Tsars, communists, or Federationists have always installed ethnic Russians into the outerlying areas' administrations. I know some of the new wave of emigrants, some from the Kaukasus or Kazakhstan - where the ethnic Russians who had represented the central government had to leave with independence.
The Russian page has also an image. 121.209.56.202 (talk) 05:02, 13 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
"Olga Gostasvits" and "Bernard Royal-Ivankov" cannot be ethnic Russian in principle. These are jewish names and surnames.
The war begins 22 juny 1941, in 1940 Bernard was not yet a soldier, he was just an trivial alcoholic. 95.31.28.254 (talk) 20:34, 15 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Donald Trump

edit

Why are Donald Trump and Trump Tower mentioned nowhere in this article, though Trump is mentioned in one of the footnotes? This seems a serious oversight, as Ivankov was found hiding out first in Trump Tower, then in the Trump Taj Mahal. 173.88.246.138 (talk) 12:01, 1 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
