The article's author relied heavily on (perhaps plagiarized) pages 13-18 of Warren Loose's Bodie Bonanza (1979) yet failed to notice that Loose concluded W.S. Bodey's first name was neither William nor Waterman. After studying Poughkeepsie, New York, records, Loose wrote, "To Terrance Brodigan and Wakeman S. Bodey must go the honor of the original discovery of the first clues of its golden hoard. . . . Wakeman S. Bodey, whose name has marked the place of discovery for over a hundred years." (Loose 1979, 13-14)

For more proof that Bodie's discoverer was probably Wakeman S. Bodey (not William nor Waterman), see http://www.bodiehistory.com/myths.htm
