Is WEXPfest irrelevant?

The WEXPfest is a tradition of the radio station and had been going on for more than 3 years. I removed DJ names and just stated that they have existed in the past and there have been plans to have them exist in the future. Lasallefan keeps removing the edits, calling them vandalism and irrelevant. I feel weak and powerless because the mods don't do a thing to check. I'd like an administrator or a moderator to rule on it. Is the information I've posted in the past about WEXP relevant? Pacdude 21:55, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Make your case here for why it is relevant. --Durin 12:38, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
    • The WEXPFest is a concert series founded by the radio station and sponsored by the radio station. It's happened for three consecutive years and is being planned for this upcoming year. I and others believe that it is relevant, interesting, and on par with the rest of the information on the article. I also think it is not vandalism because (OMG) it actually happened.Pacdude 16:09, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
    • Seems reasonable to me. Lasallefan, what is your response? --Durin 18:38, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Agreed with names/show reference removals. I'm not positive WEXP Fest has taken place for three years, in fact, I believe there have only been two: Spring 2004 and 2005. Regardless, is a 2-3 year concert, with less than a few hundred people present, a tradition? I think not. That being said, I'm not totally against it's inclusion...(as long as 2006, 2007 is removed, as no decision have been made on that...)i just think it hurts the flow of the article Lasallefan 19:43, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
  • In addition, what's with this note on the history page by Pacdude? "(Filled in Studio Manager's full name. The GM should know it.)". No edit by me was made to that name and, in addition, that's the girl's full name! Lasallefan 19:51, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
    • As per [1] that edit, it shows that a user with the IP address of 139.84.121.26 edited the page to add in the Executive Board. That same IP address also edited the article to add in the information about the awards. Those edits were made by the General Manager and by not including Sarah Katzianer's full name, shows that he didn't know her full name. Also, this point is totally irrelevant to the discussion at hand. You were asked about WEXPfest. At the end of the previous academic year, a committee to produce the next WEXPfest, head up by the advisor of the station, was still active and no excutive board motion was made to stop the WEXPfest nor to disband the committee. For all intents and purposes, the WEXPfest is still relevant. Please try to stay on topic. And "hurting the flow of the article" and "vandalism" are two different things. • As an aside, I'd like to bring up the pseudo-sock puppeting that Lasallefan is using. IP Address 192.160.62.60 is being used by Lasallefan to make seperate edits. An edit by 192.160.62.60 first removes the information about WEXPfest.[2]

User:Delinodeshields puts the information back, then I edit the information more. The next edit, by User:Lasallefan has a summary which reads: (I didn't delete this initally, but I see why it was...) That shows that Lasallefan thinks he and 192.160.62.60 are two different people, and correct me if I'm mistaken, but doesn't that fall under WP:SOCK (2.3)? There's a difference between not being logged in and denying you made an edit while you were logged out. Pacdude 20:31, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

    • Throwing my name in the hat here, I must clarify, that the initial deletion was NOT by user:lasallefan, so no I did not have an initial problem with the User: Lasallefan except now he started acting like he owns this page. It would incongruent with the wikipedia spirit, not to mention wexp's, for either him or myself to keep persisting like the owner and the moderator of the content. Delinodeshields 15:28, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Vandalism was added with the promorion of shows/people...that was the only initial reason to list such an insignificant thing as "wexpfest".

Lasallefan 22:45, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Agreed... Nobody likes a self promoter Delinodeshields 15:28, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Furthermore, more PA persist from pacdude...and he continues to cause trouble with myself and this page constantly. He has already been disciplined more than once for vandalism, and he constantly stalks my work. I say he should be prevented from editing WEXP. I haven't used more then one name, just simply unsigned in, which is my right. pacdude has used "earthwatch", "wexp rocks", and numerous anonymous IP addresses. He should examine his availability. Personally, I like having the girl's full last name listed, even though she doesn't even reference except in very formal settings. This is getting absurd pacdude, give it up. I also move that the personal attacks and/or personal references be removed from the history page by an administrator or Durin. Lasallefan 22:45, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

    • I have not used the screen name User:WEXPROCKS. I don't know who did, but I assure you, it was not me. I do not, nor have I ever, done any kind of sock puppetry. That's a personal attack. Pacdude

that's not a personal attack...I didn't reference you personally...that's simply stating the truth. You use numerous names, especially when your edits come under fire and/or you get suspended for vandalism. I'm removing WEXPfest pending what Durin says about this. ...and I'm not trying to own the page, I'm simply making sure it remains a good, accurate article Lasallefan 16:11, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

  • First you say that I constantly stalk "your work" and then you say you're not trying to own the page? Wikipedia is the FREE Encyclopedia (Personal attack removed). I started this discussion as a member of WEXP who is concerned as to the validity and scope of this article and on Wikipedia as a whole. You cannot continually change the article to suit what you think it should say, but rather, what the accurate history is and what is suited by the Wikipedia guidelines as to what should be included, and I would be remiss if I didn't think you were doing a lousy job of that. (Personal attack removed) Those are my two cents. Pacdude 18:53, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Take this for what it is worth:

On January 1, 2003, WEXP and the Nokia company partnered to provide one fortunate student caller and her friend with an all-expense paid trip to New Orleans to attend the Nokia Sugar Bowl. The female senior received the trip by correctly identifying a Nokia ringtone played on the air as The Real Slim Shady by Eminem. Delinodeshields 15:45, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Sorry Delino...I think almost all would agree that that was simply one contest, and not relevant to this page.

Admin...you can see that pacdude continues with his bitter attitude towards me, which obviously stems from a personal opinion and not Wikipedia. He continues to be combative with me, and continues personal attacks, despite the fact that I'm just trying to keep this article interesting and accurate. NOTHING MORE! As a former worker at the station, his comments and "stalking" (Personal attack removed). I ask that another limitation be placed on him based on these unprovoked personal attacks. Lasallefan 17:27, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Last thing, and I'm done. I'm still a DJ at the radio station, so I don't know what "former" means there.Pacdude 23:57, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
    • BOTH of you need to ratchet back the rhetoric. The only direction this sort of behavior is going to lead you in is down. If the two of you can not work together, yet insist on interacting with each other here, the situation is going to continue to get worse. Calm down. --Durin 13:04, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Fair enough. But those are still PA, so I'll remove them on both of our counts. Lasallefan 15:11, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Unless someone objects, I'd like to go forward and delete this section....let a clean slate develop Lasallefan 14:07, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
