Fair use rationale for Image:Wmgm tv.PNG
Image:Wmgm tv.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material
Hello, Please do not add unreferenced names as entries to the list of former employees the article. Not including this type of material in articles abides by current consensus and is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:
- WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
- As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
- WP:NLIST tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
- Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.
If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). thanks Deconstructhis (talk) 22:51, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Station end date...
Why, when people add this section (the official off-air date is December 31, 2014), it is removed without explanation? FriarTuck1981 (talk) 23:49, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
Please add this back with references if possible;
As of today Igor the bunny (talk) the following claims are not referenced;
Please add them back with refs, if possible;
The station is officially considered part of the Philadelphia market, but primarily serves Southeast New Jersey as the only major network affiliate located directly in the state. As such, its coverage area overlaps with NBC owned-and-operated station WCAU, channel 10.
WMGM-TV was previously owned by the Linwood-based Access.1 Communications. In October 2013, the station was sold to LocusPoint Networks for $6 million, but remained operated by Access.1. The company retains ownership of the station's low-power transmitter, WMGM-LP. The sale proved controversial, due to speculation that LocusPoint only bought the station so that it could sell its license and wireless spectrum to the FCC during its upcoming spectrum incentive auction, and was not interested in its further operation.
History
The station first signed on the air on January 25, 1966 known as WCMC-TV (meaning Cape May County). It was owned by Jersey Cape Broadcasting, along with the WCMC radio stations (1230 AM and 100.7 FM, now WZXL). The station initially could not get a direct network feed from NBC, forcing station engineers to switch to and from the signal of KYW-TV (channel 3) in Philadelphia for network programming. During the station's early years, even when NBC went to full-time color programming, the station still broadcast its local programming in black and white. WCMC-TV was sold to South Jersey Radio in 1981, and changed its call letters first to WAAT on April 27, 1981, and then to the current WMGM-TV on April 12, 1984 to match co-owned WMGM radio (103.7 FM). Under South Jersey Radio, channel 40 was able to obtain its own NBC affiliate feed. Upon the death of owner Howard Green in 2002, the stations were eventually sold to Access.1 Communications.
For many years, the station operated a low-powered repeater, WMGM-LP in Pleasantville on VHF channel 7, to serve Atlantic City itself. On July 3, 2006, WMGM-LP fell silent when a fire struck its transmitter building. The building also housed the transmitters for Atlantic City's WMGM radio as well as Pleasantville's WOND (1400 AM) and WTKU-FM (98.3). While WMGM radio began broadcasting from WPUR (107.3 FM)'s auxiliary facilities atop the Trump Taj Mahal casino, the AM stations and WMGM-LP remained dark, leaving many Atlantic City residents without clear reception of NBC programs over-the-air.
Access.1 still owns WMGM-LP, a low-power analog rebroadcaster of WMGM-TV.
Future of the station
On January 1, 2015, WMGM's NBC affiliation, along with its management agreement with Access.1, will end. Access.1 will retain most of the station's staff, including its news department, and has announced plans to expand its news operation from a new facility on a "new broadcast channel" in 2015, but will no longer have any control over WMGM's programming. It is unknown how WMGM will be programmed following these changes.

- I reverted your reversions because WMGM-LP references are below in the link to the FCC Database and second Atlantic City and South Jersey IS considered to be part of the Philadelphia DMA (Number Four market) per the Nielsen Rating Service, that's why Philadelphia stations are also must-carry in the South Jersey Region. Why did WMGM-TV get sold by Access1. Communications?
- Because the entire company was sold to Alpha Media which only wanted the radio stations and not WMGM-TV. YborCityJohn (talk) 03:39, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
WMGM-LD is now WSJT-LD News.
Official Website
Clearly this is not an official website. It is run by a company called Advantage Broadcasting which is a marketing company. WMGM-TV is owned by LocusPoint Networks. The site in question seems to be an marketing tool to solicit advertising which is not permitted see WP:EL. It gives a contact address for Advantage Broadcasting in Millville and not WMGM's offices in Linwood which right off is a red flag that it is not official because under FCC regulations radio and TV stations MUST publicly publish the address and phone number for their main office/studio for the purpose of complaints, questions or access to the Public Inspection File. Further there has been no official press release or announcement indicating the relationship (if any) between WMGM-TV, its parent company LocusPoint Networks and Advantage Broadcasting.
