I eliminated most of the advertisment, but I left the schedule...is this still considered an ad for the station? Mr mark taylor 17:14, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Mr. Taylor, I was shocked to hear your station say this afternoon (Monday, October 19, 2009) that “perhaps you don’t understand the religion of Cat Stevens, but we at WNSX understand his music” or something very close to that. Steven Georgiou, aka Steve Adams, aka Cat Stevens, aka Yusuf Islam, has publicly called for the murder of another artist, Salmond Rushdie, simply because of Mr. Rushdie’s art, a book called Satanic Verses. During a recent interview on network television Mr. Islam, or whoever he is this year, was entirely unrepentant. He claims that his religion requires him to support the assassination of Mr. Rushdie! What an animal! Peace Train my ***.
It is unconscionable that anyone should provide comfort and support to Mr. Georgiou/Adams/Stevens/Islam. He promotes murder publicly and just because some unwitting idiot cannot see beyond some music he likes, Georgiou gets treated like a celebrity. That jerk, whatever he calls himself, should be banned from public exposure by all those who support the arts, free thinking expression, and humanity. When a radio station plays this persons music they are in fact supporting those people. It’s just not right.
