editThis article is titled "QPM-241", which is a non-existent designation. The "QPM" list is a list of 15 stars in the quintuplet cluster given by Glass et al in a 1990 paper. "QPM-241" is not one of those stars. The number 241 is given in a paper by Figer et al in 1999, typically referenced as qF (quintuplet Figer) or FMM (Figer, McLean, and Morris). Hence qF 241 or FMM 241, but the star has never been referred to as QPM-241 until Wikipedia created the term.
More recently the star has been included in the catalogue of Wolf Rayet stars as WR 102ea and this is the designation used in most recent research. I propose to rename this article to "WR 102ea", create QPM-241 as a redirect (for now at least), and add a sentence to the article about the naming. I will also attempt to edit all pages referencing that name. Lithopsian (talk) 16:43, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
