I agree...the article on lattice towers states that they are by definition free-standing, i.e. no guy wires.Ormewood (talk) 20:07, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
I removed all the references to "free-standing lattice tower" and replaced them with "guyed mast", including a link to the Wikipedia article on guyed masts.
I used the term "mast" instead of "tower" beause this is the convention with structural engineers and also broadcast engineers in the UK. US broadcast engineers use the term "mast" to mean a vertical tower attached to another structure or vehicle, and "tower" to mean a structure attached to the ground. I made this choice because it was consistent with the link to the "guyed mast" article.Ormewood (talk) 18:26, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
