Wabeno (community), Wisconsin

edit

I have no problems about splitting the Wabeno (communty), Wisconsin off from the town of Wabeno article.According to the Wisconsin Historical Society Dictionary of Wisconsin History and the DeLorme Atlas&Gazeteer of Wisconsin, the unincorporated community of Wabeno, Wisconsin does exist and is located within the town of Wabeno in Forest County.Thanks-RFD (talk) 14:39, 14 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I know it exists. I took all of these pictures from the community. I think the high school section and picture should remain in this article because it serves the entire town. A better idea might be to break it into its own article because it serves several towns, including Wabeno (town) and Wabeno (community). Royalbroil 16:56, 14 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Also the external links about the town and school district-the one about the town should be kept in the town but should the school district link be put in the article about the Wabeco community or just be kept in the town article.Sometimes-info about towns/villages are in the school district weblinks-Thanks-RFD (talk) 17:17, 14 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The entry starts with Wabeno town. Like New England, if something does not specifically fall into a city or village, then if falls into an organized town. Thus, its possible to speak of Madison "city" and Madison "town" without discussing the same place, even though the two are adjacent. However, in this case, because the entry speaks of Wabeno as a town, I suspect that the original author regarded "community" to be coterminous with the town itself rather than as a separate entity. I don't believe that breaking this article up would serve the wiki community. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.196.151.183 (talk) 18:09, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

It seems to Wabeno website was either taken over or the domain bought - no longer relevant to article 65.29.175.121 (talk) 06:36, 18 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
