Fair use rationale for Image:Utada Hikaru - Wait & See ~Risk~ .jpg

edit

Image:Utada Hikaru - Wait & See ~Risk~ .jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Orphaned references in Wait & See (Risk)

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Wait & See (Risk)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "note":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 01:59, 28 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Calvin999 and I am reviewing this article.

Info box
  • Use a flat list for the Format parameter
  • Use a flat list for the Record label parameter
  • Use a flat list for the genre parameter
  • Where have you got Dance-rock from? It's not sourced elsewhere.
  • January 2000 should have a semi-colon after it, omit 'and' and use <br /> so that the studios appear underneath it
  • The certification parameter is redundant now, song articles song include it
Prose
  • the track and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis produced the track. → Repetition of 'the track'
  • Utada wrote the track and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis produced the track. → It was written by Utada and produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.
  • many who highlighted it from the parent album. → Doesn't make sense. Why did they "highlight" it? Did they mean highlight of the album?
  • Link mixed
  • "Wait & See (Risk)" was written by Utada.[1] The song was recorded through January 2000 at Flyte Tyme Studios, Minneapolis, Minnesota and mixed at Flyte Tyme, Edina, Minnesota.[1] Steve Hodge, Indoh Mitsuhiro and Ugajin Masaaki recorded Utada's vocals and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis produced the track.[1] Dave Barry played the guitar, Xavier Smith played the drums and all other instruments were handled by Jam and Lewis.[1] → There's no flow it. it's just abrupt short sentences.
  • For the two b-sides; → Why have you use a semi-colon?
  • For the two b-sides; "Hayatochiri" and "Fly Me to the Moon (In Other Words)", Utada's father Teruzane Utada and Akira Miyake had arranged, composed and produced the track. → This sentence needs switching around, mentioning her father first and then that he wrote the two B-Sides
  • Utada wrote all songs apart from the latter track. → Needs re-phrasing
  • Similar to the rest of the tracks from Distance, → This is irrelevant
  • Two versions are featured on the maxi single, the album edit and the instrumental.[1] One remix by Baton Girl is issued on the maxi single.[1] Two newly recorded tracks were featured on the maxi single, which included "Hayatochiri" and "Fly Me to the Moon". → Again, there's no flow here at all
  • Repetition of maxi-single is a bit annoying
  • Both paragraphs in the lead, the background section and the critical response section all start with the title of the song. It's not very imaginative to start every paragraph the same
  • likened the Jam and Lewis → Likened to what?
  • There's a disambiguation tag present in the second para here
  • Major cite kill in the second para too
  • Why is there a track listing section for a single? It should be Formats section. it's really odd that you've include this template on a single article
  • Is there no external link to the music video?

Failing. I get the impression that English is not your first language by the standard of English present. I recommend that you get someone to copyedit the article further to my suggestions above.  — Calvin999 17:32, 26 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 6 external links on Wait & See (Risk). Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}).

Infobox

edit
  • Please add an alt to the single cover image
  • You can remove the caption altogether
  • The release date for the next single "For You" is in 2000, not 1999
  • Shoutout! The song was recorded in one of the towns I used to live in :) :)

Lead

edit

Paragraph 1

edit
  • I don't know if the "translated to Wait & See ~Risk~" is necessary since the name of the article is "Wait & See (Risk)", which is already translated, so you can remove it

Paragraph 2

edit
  • "both on" flip to "on both" please
  • Add the years to the tours you mentioned in the final statement

Background and composition

edit

Paragraph 1

edit
  • Add 2001 in parentheses to Distance in the second to final sentence in this paragraph

Paragraph 2

edit
  • "track's" --> "tracks"
  • Change to "... on her 2007 singles "Kiss & Cry"/"Beautiful World".[5]"; then remember to link both songs individually since they each have their own respective articles
  • Reword the last sentence to this please: "When a staff editor from CD Journal reviewed Utada's first greatest hits album, Utada Hikaru Single Collection Vol. 1 (2004), he labeled the composition as "urban" and "speedy".[9]"
  • Again, add the year (2004) to Utada Hikaru Single Collection Vol. 1 please

Critical reception

edit

Paragraph 1

edit
  • You already linked and described Utada Hikaru Single Collection Vol. 1 so unlink it and remove "Utada's first greatest hits compilation" from the sentence
  • I might move the CD Journal review towards the end of this paragraph since its initial review sounds a bit more "mixed" to me
  • What does the Yahoo! reviewer mean when he says the single was "comfortable"? Can you elaborate?

Paragraph 2

edit
  • Remove "associate professor of biological sciences and" from from the lead statement please
  • Rest looks good

Commercial response

edit

Paragraph 1

edit
  • Remove either "opening" or "first" from the third single as they potentially mean the same exact thing

Paragraph 2

edit
  • The 'b' in 'b-side' should be capitalized
  • After that, nothing else to add

Music video

edit

Paragraph 1

edit
  • "Intercut" is one word
  • No sources for the description of the video so far

Paragraph 2

edit
  • Put "behind the scenes" in quotation marks like I just did please

Live performances and promotion

edit
  • Add "a" before "Utada's concert tours."
  • Capitalize the 't' in 'Bohemian Summer tour' please

Track listings and formats

edit
  • De-capitalize the 's' in "DVD Single" please
  • Rest is great

Credits and personnel

edit
  • You can add where the song was recorded here

Chart and certifications

edit

Weekly charts

edit
  • Same comments as in previous reviews: Put the "yearly" chart in a separate "year-end" column please
