Merge discussion
editThis article and Well of Death describe the same thing with just a couple of minor cultural differences. Astronaut (talk) 15:35, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed.This should be merged. Shyamsunder (talk) 19:53, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
- Disagreed. Well of Death is about a tradition exclusively developed in India (and Pakistan) while the other is about west. Both are same but then so are most things, for example film industry. That does'nt mean we delete all Bollywood entries. Let the articles exist sepratly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.253.131.128 (talk) 22:19, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
- Disagreed. Well of Death developed in India without any help or even influence from West. Now, though even in India it is made out of woodwork, but before 1960 it was literally a well, (wood too costly for Indians). The western Wall of death (motorcycle act) is totally about motorcycling while in Indian thing bicycles ( and now cars ) do as well. I am not sure about it (and it is really surprising if true) someone once informed me that horses used to run as well. Articles about American culture are a hundred to a penny (good thing) but Indian culture related are very rare, merging such an interesting article about Indian culture will discourage Indian enterprise on WP. Wall of death (carnival sideshow) → Wall of death
Wall of death → Wall of death (disambiguation) – Primary topic (and not exclusive to carnivals). Wall of death (moshing) is slang, a redirect, and unreferenced in the target article. The Wall of Death has a hatnote. Disambiguation page should be at Wall of death (disambiguation). - There are those to whom "wall of death" may more emotively and rememberedly mean a wall that people important in their history have been firing-squadded against. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 04:14, 12 July 2014 (UTC)
- I cannot find a single WP article that mentions it. 86.153.57.241 (talk) 05:13, 12 July 2014 (UTC)
- Support per nom. The other entries at the dab page don't even have articles. — AjaxSmack 02:16, 25 July 2014 (UTC)

Richard Thompson
editI wonder if the Richard Thompson song doesn't refer instead to the carnival ride where you stand against the inside of a cylinder and are spun so rapidly that you are stuck to the wall. These are also known as Walls of Death. And perhaps mention of these rides would be appropriate here or in a separate entry.
