Transclusion

edit

Though I think that this is a clever idea, I'm not sure that transclusion is really the best choice here. Wouldn't it be better to just link to the relevant subpages, rather than drag in all the info here, with the multiple "See also" sections? --Elonka 05:19, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

As a few of these further disambiguation subpages now include "See also" sections, I agree. When the transclusions were introduced, that wasn't the case. I also think this is rather uncommon among all the names in the Category:Surnames, so a reader who got used to navigating other such pages to their subpages might be confused here. It seemed a good idea at the time. Michael Bednarek (talk) 07:30, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Broken Bot or Vandalism

edit

Nicolle Wallace's name is not here. It is my understanding that when an article is written there is a way to specify that the title is the name of a person, and then mark within that name the component(s) that is/are shared with other family-members (which has a wrinkle in some Spanish-speaking countries that it doesn't have in English-speaking countries), so that an automated process constantly cruising Wikipedia will find all articles of persons whose name has the family-shared component "Wallace" and will add that article to this list by a data-processing operation, without a human ever editing this page. If that is correct, please note that either the automatic process is broken or someone vandalized the page.2603:7000:9906:EEC7:1C64:8308:33BC:E2D6 (talk) 02:52, 23 January 2021 (UTC)Christopher L.
