British Bemberg Factory at Doncaster

edit

According to some documents left by the german architect Ferdinand Flakowski (1879−1969), he was involved in designing/building the Bemberg factory at Doncaster. Flakowski worked for Vereinigte Glanzstoff-Fabriken AG ("Glanzstoff") since 1918, partly as employee, partly as freelancer. "Glanzstoff" owned the majority of stock of J. P. Bemberg AG since 1925. Flakowski designed many factory buildings for "Glanzstoff" and Bemberg, also the Cologne factory of Glanzstoff-Courtaulds GmbH (founded in 1925 by "Glanzstoff" and Courtaulds Ltd.) − some of them quite similar to the Doncaster factory. Perhaps there was some kind of pre-design by Flakowski sent to WG&P by "Glanzstoff"? Any expert out there??? --217.254.2.181 15:20, 16 November 2007 (UTC) (= user "Ulf-31" at german wikipedia)Reply
