editI really want to have this article improved and need some pictures. If anyone can use the Commons and find any picks of the courses, the trophy and other related pictures that would definitely improve the quality of the article. Jeeps2009
Page name
editNow that this tournament is no longer played, what should the page name be? It could stay where it is or moved to some commonly used name - but what name. User:AMLNet49 improperly moved the page (since reverted) to Disney Golf Classic but that name was only used one year. Suggestions on a "most-common" name? - First, I must apologize for my move – I attempted to move the page but “Disney Golf Classic” was a redirect page and therefore the move was prohibited. Second, I moved the page to that particular name for the most part because of the precedent set with the Doral Open. While tourneys such as the BellSouth are better known by that name, the AT&T name was the most recent name and a revert to a past corporate name is improper, so the page remains AT&T Classic. However, the Doral tournament was better known as simply “Doral” rather than the Ford Championship, and since Doral, unlike BellSouth, is not a corporate name, it was more appropriate to move it to this name. So: as the Disney event is best known as “Disney” rather than the Children’s Miracle Network Classic, and “Disney Golf Classic” is the most recent non corporate name (Disney being used more as a geographic identifier) and contains the Disney name that it was best known by, this would make sense as the posthumous name of the article. Plus, had the tournament been staged without a sponsor after the original usage of this title, it seems that this would have been the likely title, sort of like the Tampa Bay Championship has done. - A ML-Talk-Cont-Count
- My suggestion would be Walt Disney World Golf Classic. For the first 27 years of the tournament its name started with "Walt Disney World ..." and that was part of the name from 2003 to 2006 also. Tewapack (talk) 16:31, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
