editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Walter Lord. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
- Attempted to fix sourcing for http://www.titanic1.org/people/walter-lord.asp
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}
).

Rumors
editWalter Lord was an OSS agent. His designation was T070, and he knew Ian Fleming and Moe Berg during World War 2. Fleming's character James Bond (named after an ornithologist) is based partly on Lord and Berg, and also upon other agents.
At the end of World War 2, Lord was a participant in the interrogation of Albert Speer, Werner Heisenberg and others.
The movie "Tora. Tora, Tora" is based on Lord's book "Day of Infamy."
Lord refused to be interviewed about the origins of the CIA from the OSS after WW2.
These rumors are taken from the "Author's Note" in "The Darwin Strain", a novel by Bill Schutt and J. R. Finch. Lord appears as a character in that book: "Call me Wally." Wastrel Way (talk) 02:26, 16 January 2020 (UTC) Eric
