editThe practice of "noviciate" is easily made a cultural feature only by no using the word child: try this caption instead: Buddhist child novices.
Were most orphans? Did they make their choice while at school? Are they all boys? Is this a practice in Europe? South America? Australia? Within the Russian Federation? In mainland China? In Japan? In South Korea? In India?
