"Gates of Hell"
editIs there a Wikipedia article on the Japanese concept of a place of torture for the wicked dead that is closer to actuality than "Hell"?--Wetman (talk) 09:48, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
There's an Encyclopedia Brittanica article on Jigoku, which makes the Japanese version of hell sound a lot like the western concept. Not really different enough to make a fuss about. http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/303847/Jigoku
I suppose you could replace the word hell with jigoku, but then you'd also need to create a jigoku article, and add it to the disambiguation page which currently has entries for various cultural referents to jigoku, but no article for the actual folkloric locale.
I'd just leave it as hell. Bustter (talk) 03:42, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
