Prevention
editBack on the farm, we used to flood the cattle yard up to maybe 3 inches. The cattle learned quickly to stand in that and the flies could not get at their heels. Jokem (talk) 05:08, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
Geographic location
editApparently they still exist in the United States, at least in Pennsylvania. One of the cats I care for in my rural neighborhood just had one bust a hole in his head, and when I showed pics to a coworker who also has cats, she told me what to tell my vet because one of her friends had 2 cats infested with them in recent years. My vet confirmed it looked like the damage from a warble but it was gone already. Kelelain (talk) 02:55, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
