Native Peoples

edit

Native peoples have also, at various times, under certain circumstances, been made wards of the state. One consequence of this was that they could not sue the government. Unfortunately, that is all I know about it, so if anyone else can add more, I think it would help improve this article dramatically. Cheers. LordAmeth (talk) 20:29, 20 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sentence structure

edit

I can't parse the following sentence: In Canada, to this day, Native American status' remain wards of the state ... If I understand it correctly, I think it should be rephrased one of the following ways:

  1. In Canada, to this day, Native Americans remain wards of the state ...
  2. In Canada, to this day, Native Americans' status remains wards of the state ...

I like the first one better. Any opinions/clarification? -- UKoch (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:53, 4 April 2012 (UTC).Reply

The issue has been resolved. Thanks! Thanks also for adding the date of my comment (stupid me). -- UKoch (talk) 13:54, 13 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
