The New York Times obituary in 1957 said Ward V. Evans was 74, which would make his birth year 1882 or 1883. However the Cyclopedia biography said he was born in 1880 and gave a specific date within 1880. It is not obvious which of these is more reliable. More work seems to be needed to resolve this conflict. --Presearch (talk) 20:30, 20 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Washington Post obituary gives age 77 at death so I will assume this is correct (and New York Times obit incorrect) and remove notes pointing to division of opinion. --Presearch (talk) 20:53, 20 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have added a request for an image of Ward V. Evans. It should be noted that his 1957 obituaries in the New York Times and the Washington Post each contain an image -- the same image in each case, though the reproduction is better by the New York Times (at least in ProQuest Historical Newspapers page image database). It seems a long shot, but is there any procedure through which such a newspaper image could be incorporated in the article? How to get around copyright? -- Presearch (talk) 22:13, 20 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
