Photo request - More specific?
editWhat specific type of photo is being requested that we don't have already? I notice most are over a dozen years old, is that why they're not used? -- Infrogmation (talk) 04:55, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
- I have removed the image request template. Various other pixs can be seen at linked Commons category; if somthing else is wanted, pleas make a more specific request, thanks. -- Infrogmation (talk) 18:10, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
Old website
editThere was a website for Easton at http://207.22.231.50/schools/usa/la/wef1700
However http://web.archive.org/*/http://207.22.231.50/schools/usa/la/wef1700 has no archived records
No archives of http://web.archive.org/*/http://207.22.231.50/ appear so I have no idea what the IP address corresponded to.
WHOIS says that today the address corresponds to:
- OrgName: WESCO DISTRIBUTION, INC.
- OrgId: WESCO-8

Lee Harvey Oswald
editAccording to the article this school was known as Warren Easton High School from 1911 until 2006. We have two reliable sources stating that Lee Harvey Oswald attended Warren Easton High School, in New Orleans, in the mid-1950s. A user is claiming that Oswald did not attend this school, but was actually at a different school of the same name. It sees very unlikely to me that there would have been two schools of the same name in the same city at the same time.
The school was closed for the 2005-2006 school year (following Hurricane Katrina) and reopened in 2006 as a charter school under its current name. Possibly the editor is attempting to claim that anything prior to 2006 was a different school, but he can't have it both ways. The article discusses the school as having been founded in 1833 and having been on its current site since 1913, and lists other notable alumni from prior to 2006.
Oswald did not graduate from this school, but that is irrelevant as far as listing him as an alumnus. For Wikipedia purposes any student who attended, even for one day, is to be listed as an alumnus. Meters (talk) 23:13, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
- The current charter school is chartered by Orleans Parish School Board, the same school board that ran the earlier public school. Meters (talk) 23:27, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
- Agree it should be included --VVikingTalkEdits 15:29, 3 May 2022 (UTC)
