  • Newcastle Upon Tyne isn't hyphenated.
  • "a race car driver" in BritEng (per TIES) we would call him a "racing driver".
  • Immediate instinct is that this lead is a little too light for an article of this length, per WP:LEAD. Suggest it really summarises the whole article as intended.
  • Don't use abbreviations like LMP without explaining them, the article should be accessible to both experts and non-experts alike.
  • Don't overlink 24 Hours of Le Mans in the lead.
  • "He currently" new para, so better "As of 2013, Hughes competes in ..."
  • "the British GT" that's "the British GT Championship".
  • "and he won the" not a good sequitur, I'd put a fullstop and say "Hughes won the..." to avoid confusion with Berg.
  • Make sure infobox year ranges comply with WP:DASH so use en-dash not hyphen, and do it consistently.
  • Anything on his life before racing at the age of 20?
  • Large number of redlinks. Are you serious that these could/should be articles (i.e. have sufficient notability)? If so I'd suggest making a few of them so it's not such a mass of red.
  • "seventh in 1992, driving" avoid easter egg link, so "in the 1992 season".
  • Where does ref [1] note "for the fading Lotus team"?
  • Just a simple question, what makes driverdb.com a reliable source?
  • "For 1992, he stepped up to" replace "he" with "Hughes".
  • "1996 saw a change of course" avoid starting sentences with a number (or a year in this case).
  • A lot of "2000 saw... ", "1996 saw..." not only a bad idea to start a sentence like this, but also weak prose, should make it more active, i.e. "In 2000, Hughes did this, did that, did the other...".
  • "at the 24 Hours of Le Mans of that year" avoid that easter egg link, at best you should link the 2001 event to "that year".
  • NGT is a dablink.
  • You pipelink "24 Hours of Le Mans" several times in the article, many times to different targets, i.e. specific years of the event. This is confusing and should be avoided.
  • Overlinking galore in 2004–2006, e.g. " 1000km of Istanbul" (which incidentally needs a non-breaking space between 1000 and km).
  • See WP:YEAR for how to format year ranges, i.e. 2004–2006 should be 2004–06.
  • Avoid using hash to mean number, per WP:HASH.
  • "For the first - and to date only - time" en-dash, not hyphen per WP:DASH.
  • held at Silverstone.<ref="tt">"Hughes, Campbell-Walter receive TT". AUTOSPORT.com. 17 December 2010. Retrieved 12 May 2013.</ref> clearly needs work.
  • The "key" should definitely not link cross-namespace to a Template. That's not what a reader wants to see.
  • Why the need for the word "Complete"? I would assume it to be complete unless told otherwise.
  • Reference titles need to be checked for WP:DASH compliance and SHOUTING.
  • Retrieval dates should have consistent formatting.
  • Is crash.net reliable?
  • Publication dates should have consistent formatting.

Overall a lot of work in my opinion to get to GA class, so I'll fail this for the time being. Feel free to ping me when it's renominated, I'll be happy to re-review. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:10, 23 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
