Wartenberg wheels are a popular BDSM toy, proven by its constant presence on the bestsellers list of BDSM retailers. Similar in appearance to a pizza cutter, this wheel of prickly little pins is rolled over a person's skin, generating a unique, tingly sensation which many people really respond to. The pins are pointy enough to feel quite stimulating wherever they go but are not sharp enough to puncture the skin unless excessive pressure is used.

Many people "really respond" to it? The pins "feel quite stimulating wherever they go"?

Rarely Used?

Neurology in the US uses a Wartenberg wheel often. Although cited, I didn't find the claim in the source. For cost effectiveness, a bent paper clip is often used to induce a sharp sensation. 108.8.11.201 (talk) 06:59, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Hygiene Concerns

"Because of hygienic concerns, these devices are rarely used any more" -- It's unclear which device, the metal one or the plastic one, both? Is this even true, the metal ones could be sterilised like any other medical equipment and the plastic ones are likely single use much like other plastic surgical implements/equipment.
