editThe institutional situation inspires little optimism. If the municipality is to take over water and sanitation operations from SANAA it will need considerable support to keep the existing svstems going let alone improve the deficiencies it will inherit, or attempt to expand services to meet new demand. With a privatized system in the future, it is unclear who would be responsible for informal urban neighborhoods, which are estimated to include a large portion of Tegucigalpa's households.-Urban Services delivery
