editI have replaced the explicit external links with {{cite web}}

Cleanups
editI'm revisiting this article after nearly a fortnight ... I have added an {{Infobox book}}
to this article, which should have been there when it was created ... also tightened the opening paragraph, added a Table of Contents, and did some spell checking ... sorry, but my Web browser speaks American English, not British English; the subject of the article may be a novel penned by someone from the United Kingdom, but the novel is set in the United States, so it's a coin toss, IMHO.
Anyway, I hope that the author, Ivankinsman (talk · contribs), will come back and Wikify this article as suggested by Some Other Editor ... my recent edits should help you to understand what we're talking about.
BTW, I had to add a link to here from the article about Jonathan Raban ... please remember this crucial step if you create any more articles about his novels, or anyone else's:
"Always Wikilink the author and their works to each other."
I really don't want to spend any more time putting lipstick on this pig (i.e., there's Too Much work remaining before it's "pretty"), which means that it's time for this anonymous WikiGnome to MOVE ON.
Happy Editing! —68.239.79.82 (talk · contribs) 14:34, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
