this isn't REALLY ben folds. is it? RoseBody (talk) 06:02, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, doubtful. hezekiah (talk to me) 23:04, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I agree with the improbability of it all, especially when the IP belongs to a university in New Jersey - which, if I'm not mistaken, isn't where Ben lives... wild-gazelle (talk) 15:10, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Plus, the album sounds nothing like Songs for Silverman, so I highly doubt he would comment about "fleshing out" its sound... 24.176.3.52 (talk) 17:30, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
It's a good try. Ben always types without capitalization. But while he certainly is good with computers (he owns a Mac, c'mon) Ben doesn't care about who posts what. He'd never post about contacting his management. He's not that formal. For a guy who purposely tries to see what 'fuck' looks like in sign language at a venue, I don't think he'd care about Wiki vandalism. 24.126.26.133 (talk) 01:33, 10 October 2008 (UTC) User:JoshEdgar when I'm not too lazy to not loginReply

hey y'all

ben here. i know i probably shouldn't be on wikipedia looking at my own articles, especially using the talk page, but i wanted to ask whoever's vandalizing it to please stop. this is my intellectual property that's being tarnished by immature minds who can't even comprehend the exhaustive process i went through to put this album out.

so grow up guys, come on. lay off the lame jokes. enjoy the music, i hope you like this one. i worked really hard on this album and i think that the lyrics are some of the best i've ever written. i really feel like i took silverman's sound and really fleshed it out into something a whole lot bigger.

anyways, i'm gonna leave the fan pages to the fans now, but just remember what i said. i'll let my management know i did this.

thanks y'all

ben

Professional Review Suggestion

edit

As an editor at Crawdaddy!, and to comply with COI guidelines, I am not posting the link to this review of Ben Folds' Way to Normal. However, I would like to recommend it on its merits, and hope that an editor will find the time to examine the review and—if he or she sees fit—post it to the professional reviews section. I appreciate your time. Crawdaddy! (favorable) [1]

Wow, thanks for the full disclosure. That's something that doesn't really happen too often around here, and I really appreciate you coming forward like this. I'll go ahead and add it! Rwiggum (Talk/Contrib) 16:41, 2 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Definitely. You're probably one of the first to not just help yourself to adding a link. 24.126.26.133 (talk) 01:38, 10 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
If who ever added the interview cleaned up the page, thank you very much. It's looking much neater and cleanly. Much appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.122.232.199 (talk) 17:58, 3 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

"more traditional method of songwriting..."

edit

Assuming it's the bias I'm bound to have from Songs for Silverman being my first Folds album, I was wondering if this line...

""Way to Normal" made a return to Folds' more traditional method of songwriting. The album is full of upbeat songs, injected with the humor that some fans felt Songs for Silverman completely lacked."

...seems unneeded/inserted-by-fans to anyone else, or if it's just me? I don't think I'd have as big a problem with it if SFS had a blurb noting this 'change in direction'... More than anything, I'm just curious about this being 'just me' or 'against policy', etc. Thanks all. MusicLov3r (talk) 21:41, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hidden Track between tracks 8 and 9

edit

I'm not sure how to describe this, but on my stereo system whilst listening to "Way to Normal" there is a secret track between 8 and 9, which is basically a lead-up to track 9. Anybody else heard this? Alec92 (talk) 17:21, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I assume you're referring to the short accented speech containing (roughly) "The answer you seek only poses more questions"? If so, then yes, that's on the album. I forget his name, but I recall seeing the speaker's name listed in the album/song's credits. Ben had said before the album's release (don't remember where) that this was intentional, and would recite a 'rough draft' of this speech during live shows, leading right into "Bitch Went Nuts" much like on the album. Hope this helps.MusicLov3r (talk) 04:09, 3 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, this does help, if you skip ahead to track 9 "Bitch Went Nuts" you can briefly hear the mans voice before the song starts up, and you have to listen to Track 8 "Free Coffee" or skip forward to the "End" of the song to hear it. Alec92 (talk) 17:38, 3 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
