editYes, since I'm a Wikipedia user, I didn't like to see Webconverger article get out of date with the current release version. I've refrained from making substantial edits to the text and I've made no attempt to hide myself which seems commonplace on other articles. I've declared I work for Webconverger on my user page. - I think in this case it doesn't matter if the author hides himself or not. You seem to be the main contributor to this article since the last two years and kept the article alive. If there is little interest from others in editing the article it should be questioned if the topic is relevant enough to have it's own article. Anyway the indepence of an author who is working for the article's subject should always questioned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BroncoPfefferminz (talk • contribs) 08:37, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
- Why don't you spend some time improving the article instead of trying to get it deleted BroncoPfefferminz? Thousands of people everyday get online thanks to Webconverger. Hendry (talk) 07:01, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
Notability
editIT media have covered Webconverger several times and there is non-exhaustive list here: http://webconverger.org/press Hendry (talk) 04:24, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
- IMO most of these mentions don't support notability. They lack independence and seem to me like a collection of promotional or advertising material which isn't a bad thing if used on the product's website. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BroncoPfefferminz (talk • contribs) 08:16, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry, how do they lack independence? Webconverger did NOT pay for these reports. Hendry (talk) 08:24, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
- I can't find any Linux Kiosk software that is more popular than Webconverger.. GQuigs (talk) 04:15, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
- I'd appreciate if a third party then would remove the notability flag and improve the article --Hendry (talk) 02:48, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
- I found a couple of articles I will add, which I think show enough notability to remove the tag. Francis Bond (talk) 01:21, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
License?
editThe article states it is released under the MIT license. On the other hand it says it's built on top of the Debian distro, which is mainly licensed under the GPL. Confusing. 85.131.23.217 (talk) 16:30, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
The build script and contributions by Webconverger as a company are licensed under MIT. Hendry (talk) 04:14, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
