Merge
edit- I suggest we merge the Weir Group article with Weir Strachan and Henshaw. Why divide effort between two articles? --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 12:14, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'm in agreement with the suggestion above. Weir Strachan and Henshaw is part of the Weir Group. As content expands new stubs can be created. ----66.170.10.229 14:26, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Weir's Commandos
editDuring the war my father served in a home guard unit called Weir's Commandos (a nickname). The unit was composed of Weir's workers, who were all "reserved" workers - ie. could not be conscripted into armed forces, as they were working on vital wartime manufacturing.
Does anyone have any good source material for Weir's during the war years? Eg. my father worked on the turbine feed pump installed into HMS Hood, which now lies at the bottom of the North Atlantic. --Mais oui! (talk) 06:34, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
