Photos
editAn editor recently removed a number of photos from the article, stating in the edit summaries that the photos are unencyclopedic. I would like to discuss this to see if we can reach a compromise. I agree that a few of the photos seemed to be more decorative than informative; however, I feel that some of the photos that were removed were genuinely useful and encyclopedic — for example, the photo of the Division 9 schoolhouse is an illustration of the history of education in Wells, and the photo of the Amtrak train passing the old Boston & Maine Railroad station is an illustration of the history of transportation in Wells. –BMRR (talk) 17:08, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- Can you link to the change that removed the photos you're talking about? PRRfan (talk) 18:17, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- Certainly.
- * Division 9 schoolhouse photo removed from article
- * Amtrak train/B&M station photo removed from article
- To see the other photos that were removed, please view the article history and look for the edits that say "Removing un-encyclopedic picture" in the edit summary. I don't disagree with the editor's other edits to this article, which were definitely constructive and helpful; I'm just concerned about some of the photos that were removed. –BMRR (talk) 18:47, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
Since it's been two weeks and there has been no further discussion, I have restored the photos that were removed. –BMRR (talk) 03:10, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
