Fair use rationale for Image:Wells College Seal.gif
editImage:Wells College Seal.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Edited for tone
editToned down some of the marketing language about the docks and waterfall.Parkwells (talk) 18:22, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
The cleanup is helpful. Thanks! There are several issues that would be good to expand on.
- Academics. The section on the core mission of the school is really short now. Perhaps there is something that distinguishes Wells that could be added.
- Cayuga. There was a mention of an event with the neighboring Cayuga group at Great Gully. If there is a continuing exchange with that community, it would be a good distinction that's of interest.
- Rowland. Ms. Rowland has a profound impact on Wells and the Village of Aurora. Is there a way to work in a little more of that beyond just membership on the board?
College is still open, with Commencement may 18th, according to their website
editLet's not list this as past-tense until they're actually closed --144.121.195.176 (talk) 23:46, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
Planned schedule of closure
editFrom the college's website: "The Board voted April 25, 2024 to close and the closure was announced April 29th. A majority of operations will begin winding down after reunion and continue during the month of June. The college will maintain a small team to oversee the final closure processes over the coming months as the ownership transfers to the attorney general. The target date to finalize this process is December 31, 2024." Source: (https://www.wells.edu/closure/) DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 15:39, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
closing etc.
editNPR's 1A has a program on the closing on 3 July, 2024. A lot of the text improperly uses the present tense (e.g., in athletics). What will happen with the infrastructure? All the alumnae have Wikipedia articles, so the warning (which I can't find in the edit version to erase) should be removed. Kdammers (talk) 16:30, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
- The maintenance template for the "Notable alumni" section says that the entries need references - and it's still valid. ElKevbo (talk) 21:51, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Kdammers. I added the "alumni" template warning in 2022. It can mean that the people listed don't have Wikipedia articles, or that there aren't references in this article supporting their attendance at this college, or both. In this case, as you say, there are articles on all these people, so the issue is that there are no references here supporting attendance. The template should remain in place. - Thank you for your note. Present tense in Athletics section updated. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 11:15, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
