they say that a level 3 WBQ is worth an A at A-level (120 UCAS points) what is it worth as a GCSE ??
- Yeah in Wales, it's a mickey mouse qualification if you try taking it to any decent place of education anywhere else, as every single email from a variety of universities outside of Wales have politely reminded me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.19.116.112 (talk) 10:01, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Welsh name
editShould the Welsh name be included in this article? "Bagloriaeth Cymru" mdkarazim (talk) 14:06, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
Shouldn't it be "Cymraeg" not "Cymru"? Also, i don't quite understand, is it compulsary? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.128.73.180 (talk) 23:49, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- In regard to your first question: no. Cymraeg means "(of) Welsh (the language)". Cymru means "(of) Wales (the country)". It is not an examination of the Welsh language but an examination taken in Wales. --Picapica (talk) 21:41, 29 September 2012 (UTC)
It is 'compulsary' in certain colleges, whereas in others, it is optional, and in others still it is not even offered. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.82.227.23 (talk) 10:41, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
Language issues
edit"It is common for students in Wales to study and speak fluently in English and Welsh..."
I don't think that this is true. From personal experience, most schools in Wales teach only in English. Unless someone has a reference to support this assertion I think this statement should be removed.

There are a number of schools (in the dozenns) that teach through the medium of Welsh. The majority are English medium. There are a number that are officially "bilingual". NPOV on higher education
editI've put NPOV on the higher education section - not only is it an extremely one-sided point of view, but it lacks any inline sources to support its contentious conclusions.188.164.224.26 (talk) 14:11, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
